Very nice picture! Did you know if the Indian SU-30MKIs fared well against the US opponents?

I remember they kinda dominated the US planes when they trained over in India a while ago.

It depends on who you ask. I read that the SU-30's were limited here at Red Flag because the French were also here, allegedly spying on them.

Word put out by an F-15 guy with the 65th Agressors was that they had a lot of fratricides, but were overall quite good. They did end up having trouble when they got into a 1v1 situation. The f-15 guy explained how the Thrust vector works different than on the F-22, and as such explained how 4th Gen Assets could nail one in a turning fight.

I do not know. I heard the Indians were using limited functionality on their radars though, as to not "give away capabilities."

It was the Indian Air Force and they were here playing at Red Flag, at Nellis AFB. I made the trip just to see these guys and the Rafales.

I envy you, great stuff my man, we only have 2 planes left in our AF with nobody to fly it (not quite so bad)..................

I thought I read in Aviation Week South Africa was getting 14 Gripens? Is this correct?

I think the final tally will be 2 squadrons (22 planes),

We have 4 already, the sad part is that we have a serious shortage of experienced pilots from the SAAF, ex Cheetah and Mirage, so I don't know who will be flying these in the future,

This year at AAD 2008 the Gripen flew a more aggresive display pulling higher G-turns to show its good turn and climb rate,

She is a deceptive fighter, not so small as you think at first, I suppose very much like the F-16, maybe not the same thrust though.

Perhaps I will post one or 2 images for you next week?..............................

Love to see the shots. I missed these guys at Nellis and saw the double shot of Rafales and Sukhoi's instead. :)
